We know we’ve been a little MIA lately; things behind the scenes have been moving fast over here in the best way possible. Between new projects, planning, creating, and a few exciting things we can’t wait to share yet… we’ve been deep in the studio/world of Marcolina’s lately.

But we’ve missed you. 🩷

A lot of beautiful things are coming soon, and we’re excited to bring you along for all of it. In the meantime, we wanted to remind everyone that our next Figure Drawing Session is happening on Wednesday, May 20th ✍️

Figure drawing isn’t just about drawing; it’s about adapting. Poses move from simple to challenging throughout the night; for both the muse and the artist. I like to shift the rhythm every session… so depending on where you’re sitting, you might get the easy flow…or the real test. That’s part of the experience. Perspective changes everything. These are drawings of our challenging pose from last session made by a few of our guest artists.

“A Penny for your thoughts…”

This painting by Guillo Perez 3 feels like that moment where you’ve said everything… and somehow nothing feels resolved. The reds catch your attention in right away: intense, emotional, almost overwhelming. And then there’s the figure in black, leaned back, cigarette lit, completely in his own world.

Or maybe he knows you’re watching. Maybe he just doesn’t care.

There’s something here that quietly pushes back on the idea that everything needs to be explained or unpacked. That constant loop of analyzing, labeling, processing…And instead, it leans into something else; what art has always done best: Feeling without over-explaining. Sitting in it without needing to fix it.

Titled A Penny for your thoughts, it’s a reminder that not everything needs words…sometimes it just needs to be seen.

Moonlight Umbrella by Hong Kong born and Tampa local artist Wai Ching W Art hits like a kaleidoscope: color, movement, energy…nothing stays still.

It reminds me of life; layered, a little chaotic, but somehow still balanced. The longer you look, the more it clicks. This definitely isn’t one of those pieces you pass by. It pulls you in, makes you look again, then again…until you start seeing things you didn’t catch the first time.

Yesterday, a client walked into the gallery and asked me, “Which piece is your favorite?” Oh boy… that’s never an easy question.

Because the truth is: I love them ALL. Each painting holds its own energy, its own story, its own world. So instead of choosing just one, I found myself walking them through each piece… sharing what I see, what I feel, and why it speaks the way it does.

And that moment right there? That’s my favorite part. Watching someone’s perspective shift… seeing their eyes open to something deeper… something they didn’t notice before. And that Friends is the magic of art.
