In Meclina Gomes’ micrography works, words frequently shift between being readable text and abstract visual form. Sometimes she wants the viewer to read clearly; other times she wants them to experience the emotional residue of language without immediate comprehension.

This negotiation unfolds intuitively throughout the making process, as she approaches visibility much like memory—some details remain vivid, while others fragment or blur over time. The balance between legibility and abstraction allows the work to exist simultaneously as both narrative and atmosphere.

Across all media, Kamil Peters’ work reflects a deep respect for craft and material intelligence. Their practice is less concerned with narrative clarity than with emotional resonance, inviting viewers into moments of pause, reflection, and recognition. Through making, Peters constructs spaces where strength is not performative, but embodied—held together by marks, seams, and traces of the hand.

Their sculptures incorporate abstracted facial features and bodily forms, recalling ancestral artifacts while resisting fixed cultural or historical placement.

Patinated metal surfaces, charred wood, and organic contours suggest endurance shaped by time and environment. The works function as quiet sentinels—figures that carry history without explanation and presence without demand.
