Tomorrow! Join us in the CARRIAGE HOUSE for Wonderful Wednesday: Rachel Hillman Band. 6-8 PM. (Yes, we moved from our usual Roller Rink location to inside the Carriage House due to expected storms.)

Blending North Florida ecology with groove-driven jazz, folk, and soul, this Tallahassee-based ensemble draws inspiration from winding spring systems, cicada choirs, roadside wetlands, and the layered musical traditions of the American South. Influenced by the playful phrasing of Ella Fitzgerald and Anita O’Day, alongside the modern songwriting sensibilities of Lake Street Dive, the group combines theatrical storytelling with deep rhythmic interplay.

The ensemble features upright and electric bass, Rhodes-inspired keyboards, layered percussion, drums informed by samba, neo-soul, and D’Angelo-influenced pocket grooves, alongside expressive guitar and vocal textures. Their sound moves fluidly between intimate jazz club energy, porch-song warmth, and improvisatory exploration.

With songs inspired by Florida landscapes and Southern biodiversity, the group aims to create performances that feel both grounded and transportive — equal parts listening-room concert, jam session, and ecological storytelling experience.

Enjoy beer and wine from the Goodwood bar, plus delicious bites from Damas Café and Venebites (Authentic Venezuelan food) food truck while you soak in live music. (The originally scheduled Right on Que BBQ truck sadly had to cancel.) Please note: no outside coolers or food.

Tickets: $5 | Free for Goodwood Members | Free for kids age 15 and under

🎶 Introducing Goodwood Live! 🎶

We're excited to launch Goodwood Live, a new series of unforgettable evenings featuring exceptional music, engaging lectures, and unique cultural experiences at Goodwood Museum & Gardens.

Join us on Thursday, July 23, for our inaugural event: Goodwood Live: An Evening of Jazz with The Leon Anderson Quartet. Led by acclaimed drummer, educator, and Director of Jazz Studies at Florida State University, Leon Anderson. The evening will feature a dynamic live performance, showcasing the depth, improvisation, and energy that define jazz at its finest. Interwoven in the performance, guests will enjoy an engaging lecture from Anderson exploring the rich history and cultural impact of jazz in America—from its roots to its enduring influence today.

A native of the vibrant New Orleans jazz scene, Anderson’s career spans performances with legends like Marcus Roberts and Wynton Marsalis, as well as appearances with the Los Angeles Philharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl, the Jacksonville Jazz Festival, the New Orleans Philharmonic Orchestra, and numerous other noteworthy international jazz and symphony orchestras. Anderson continues to perform at major festivals, concert halls, and jazz venues worldwide. Leon Anderson’s latest release, Live at Snug Harbor (2025), has already earned rave reviews, further cementing his reputation as a leading voice in contemporary jazz.

Whether you're a lifelong jazz enthusiast or simply looking for a memorable night out, this special event promises world-class music, fascinating history, and the beautiful indoor setting of the Goodwood Carriage House.
