This past Saturday, the Tallahassee African American Genealogical Society had the pleasure of joining to celebrate 25 years of the Dr. B. L. Perry library!! Providing children’s activity booklets and resources for starting to look into attendees family histories, we were able share in the festivities as well as memories of the past ✨

Thank you to Leon County for the amazing program and chance to connect with the community 🫂📚

This Juneteenth, the Tallahassee African American Genealogical Society would like to reflect on our Journey Of Remembrance from earlier this year. This experience brought together community members and members of the society to four different sites in Montgomery, Alabama, giving light to the struggles and perseverance of African Americans in this countryđź’Ş

A special thanks 👏 would like to be extended to the chief organizer Christina Akiens, volunteers Angela Thompson Williams, Martina Taylor, Elaine Agvent, Genna Dulcio, Nia Ogletree, and photographs by Rico Taylor.

We hope all the attendees enjoyed the experience and that this Juneteenth allows a space for both reflection and celebration ❤️🖤💚❤️🤍💙
