Welcome back to Fun Fact Friday! Did you know?
When the restoration of the Call-Collins House was taking place, a cistern was discovered off the back of the building. Archaeologists were able to excavate numerous artifacts, including glass objects and ceramic sherds. The cistern is now a part of The Grove's irrigation system!

Shoutout to Ruby, a local student who was inspired to recreate The Grove Museum for her 2nd Grade project!

Her class was tasked with selecting a unique building in Tallahassee to recreate using recycled materials. Ruby’s family shared that they were inspired by The Grove’s approach to adaptive reuse and recycling in historic preservation.

After learning more about the history of the Call-Collins House at The Grove, Ruby collected and reused items for the project’s construction. “Styrofoam and cardboard from packages, foam board from old signs, and even used Easter eggs as bushes! A lot of hours were put in to cutting, painting and glueing to capture as many details as possible.”

Way to go, Ruby!! Museum staff is so proud and in love with the miniature Grove!
