We LOVE getting these five-star ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ reviews on Google, like we did yesterday from Michelle!

"Spent two hours in this wonderful museum and could have stayed much longer if time had allowed. The exhibits are well designed with excellent interpretive panels that tell the story of Steamboat Springs. The interactive exhibits for children are equally engaging for adults. This museum is an absolute gem. I’ll be back on my next trip to Steamboat."

Congratulations!

Don't miss this very special History Happy Hour- November 3, 2026 @ 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM

"Still Here: A Past to Present Insight into Native American People and Culture” with author, artist, and activist Danielle SeeWalker.
SeeWalker is Húŋkpapȟa Lakȟóta and a citizen of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe in North Dakota. She is a fine artist, muralist, writer, activist, and boymom of two, based in Denver, Colorado. Her artwork pays homage to her identity as a Lakȟóta wíŋyaŋ (woman), and her passion is to redirect the narrative to an accurate and insightful representation of contemporary Native America while still acknowledging historical events. We are all on Native land.

On Indigenous Peoples’ Day, the Steamboat Springs History Museum honors the Indigenous peoples who have called this land home since time immemorial.

The Yampa Valley is part of the ancestral homelands of the Ute people, whose history, culture, and enduring connections to this land remain essential to understanding our region's heritage.

Today, we celebrate Indigenous history, resilience, living cultures, and the important contributions of Native peoples—past, present, and future.

We invite you to explore our Indigenous art and cultural exhibits and learn more about the diverse Native peoples whose stories are part of our shared history.
