This was just the Back Half of the line to get in opening morning to the Venders Hall, class rooms and lecture halls. They were real sticklers about not letting anyone in before 9:00am. I was in line to drop off my donated mug for the mug sale which took place on Friday morning. I’m happy to say it sold in the first half hour to someone! I would have been so embarrassed had it sat all morning or not sold at all. I opened the kiln on my way out of town and never got a picture!!

Ford and I forgot the other car mfg, had demos of how clay and ceramist help or fit in to the designing of cars today. One had the mini and you can see the designer drew the picture idea and then the ceramist uses clay to make the 3D model. The side is also made in detail. The other mfg made a full size model and actually paints parts like the tires and windows to get better focal iterations. It was wild to look at them take clay to add to model and use a rib to smooth it out to the shape the wanted. You don’t think about these other uses and occupations for work done in clay.

Over four days at the conference watched ceramist make this large sculpture and put it together. On Friday they had all the parts together and were adding some final decorative details. They were transporting to a local kiln to run a bisque fire and would then transport to KY and glaze it. It was spectacular. I registered to win us another kiln but wasn’t lucky enough!

It may not affect any of you but...for the month of March, due to a family health issue I am temporarily changing my hours at the store. I will open daily except Monday from 10a to 5 or 5:30p. Sunday from 12 - 5.
My husband has a heart issue that will need treatment so I may also need to close occasionally if he has an appointment I cannot get on my closed day.
I appreciate your understanding and we expect to be back to normal by April.

I know it is not much notice, but I will be closed on Saturday, 2/21, unexpectedly. So sorry.

Hello Friends, Followers and Clay Junkies. I apologize for being behind. Thinks have gotten complicated. Today I spent quite a lot of time updating the store catalogue. My Internet has gone bonkers so I am going to be changing carriers very soon but this one goes in and out making it almost impossible to use. So new items have finally been updated to the catalogue, classes for Spring have been updated. I have an unwell spouse coming home the first week of March so that will take up some time, a trip to take care of a child in Chicago the end of that week and a National conference the third week. So I made the decision that rather than interrupt classes I would just wait until all my issues were done to restart. I apologize.
However I also scheduled a limited number of workshops in March and April to make up for it. A new item to the workshops is the Saturday times I set aside time for kids and serve some type of lunch before they get picked up. Hopefully from this some will like it enough to think about Summer Camp after school is out.
Please check out the website. See the new items in the store, look at the workshops and think about coming in to make a project for yourself and/or bring a friend. Love to see you out as we approach Spring.

Some new items I put out today. More cooking.
