Our museum building was also constructed in 1916 but was not made for us. It was designed for the women's literary and civic club called the Sojourners Club which was founded in Kirksville. They maintained the on

ly public library in Kirksville in this building for 80 years. When Adair County finally built a public library, this building was sold to the Historical Society.
