The King County Posse is an all-volunteer organization which was first started in 1941 by a group of businessmen who practiced horsemanship for sport and pleasure.

First Thursday night of the Ellensburg Rodeo is in the books! 🤠🇺🇸

It was literally the calm before the storm! The Grand Entry made it safely in and out of the arena just before the DOWNPOUR! 🌧️ We don’t see rain like that very often in Ellensburg!

But the rodeo continues—rain or shine. That’s the cowboy way! 🤠

King County Posse had a wonderful time carrying Old Glory during Thursday night’s rodeo, and we’re looking forward to the rest of the weekend! 🇺🇸🐴

Tonight we had our Grand Entry practice, and we are all set and ready to proudly carry Old Glory in the brand-new Ellensburg Rodeo Arena! ❤️🤍💙

We are so proud and honored to be a part of this incredible tradition and can’t wait to see that beautiful American flag flying high in the new arena!

Come cheer us on Thursday at 5:45 PM and throughout the entire rodeo weekend!

🎉 Happy Birthday, Melinda Clarke! 🎉
The King County Posse would like to wish Melinda Clarke a very Happy Birthday!
Melinda has been a valued member of the Posse since 2011 and currently serves as our 1st Lieutenant. She is always a joy to be around, bringing laughter, positivity, and a smile wherever she goes.
When you don't see Melinda riding her horse in the rodeo arena, carrying the flag in parades, or enjoying the trails with us, she's most likely behind the wheel of a school bus, safely transporting our community's children to and from school.
Melinda is someone who leads by example with kindness, dedication, and a genuine love for our Posse family. She is truly someone who makes you proud to ride alongside.
