🌧️ The rainy season is coming back to the Pacific Northwest — so naturally, we made some rain💧

Watch this little Raindrop Pal come together in the hot shop, from a glowing gather of glass to its final cute little form. Each one is handmade, so every Raindrop Pal has its own personality.

As August winds down, pumpkin season is officially getting started 🎃🔥

The studio is starting to fill up with pumpkins in all kinds of shapes, sizes, and colors.

Watch this little pumpkin take shape in the hot shop, then come see the finished pieces for yourself. Our pumpkins are available in the gallery, online, and at the airport throughout the season.

Want to make one yourself? You can create your own glass pumpkin during a Seattle Glassblowing Experience—or just stop by and watch live glassblowing in the hot shop.

Sails in glass. ⛵️✨
Sails by Hokanson Dix Glass combine vibrant murrini patterns with bold color wraps to create a design inspired by sailboat spinnakers caught in the wind.

Each handblown piece has a unique arrangement of color and pattern, with the murrini visible through the clear glass from both sides—creating incredible depth and movement.
Available in a variety of sizes and color combinations, each one is a unique piece of fine art glass.

🔥Join us Friday, September 11 from 6–9pm for a free live glassblowing demonstration featuring Adeye Jean-Baptiste Adeye Jean-Baptiste.

Adeye is a multidisciplinary glass artist whose work brings together glassblowing, kiln-working, beadwork, and sewing. Their practice explores movement, migration, place, and community, often through imaginative sculptural forms. They also helped co-create Alfred University’s Black Glass Artist Series, creating opportunities to support and celebrate Black artists working in glass.

Come watch Adeye work alongside our team in the hot shop and see their process up close.

Slow-Mo Monday 🔥
When you’re blowing into the pipe, you can’t exactly stop and say, “Hey, open the mold.” So Hugh has another way to communicate.
A few taps of his foot on the stool lets Yoshie know it’s time to open. Then they pull out a large molded ball of glass.
Glassblowing takes some serious teamwork—and sometimes, you just have to speak with your feet.

A beautiful glass mosaic becomes a vase✨🔥
Marie Butcher Marie Butcher brought in a colorful mosaic of dichroic glass, fused together onto a panel.
The Seattle Glassblowing Studio team then transformed the panel into a beautifully shaped vase.
A pretty incredible way to turn a flat panel of color into a three-dimensional piece of glass.
