We are in the final stages of installing the upcoming exhibition Black & Blue by Parks Anderson, which will open with a reception on Thursday, November 7th, from 5 to 8 p.m.

In addition to this remarkable exhibition, we’re thrilled to share the new book “33 Years,” which offers a comprehensive look into Parks Anderson’s long career and his latest work in wood and glass. This publication includes an insightful essay by esteemed art critic Mather Kangas.

Kangas writes, “Anderson’s mastery over form and materials comes to the fore again and again in this new body of work, restoring his stature to that of a leading, but formerly overlooked, American and Pacific Northwest artist. From here, yet greater riches and profound explorations are bound to evolve.”

Copies of “33 Years” will be available for purchase at the gallery. We look forward to celebrating Anderson’s achievements with you and sharing this unique body of work.

This November, we are thrilled to debut a new collection of over 40 works by esteemed artist Parks Anderson.

With this exhibition, Black & Blue, Anderson returns to his studio and art-making practice after 33 years. Anderson’s new sculptures carefully balance his reductive, modern, and geometric methodologies, combining wood, glass, and bold colors to explore the duality between the controlled hand of the artist and the natural, untouched beauty of the material itself. The artworks included in this full gallery exhibition range in scale from the monumental to the intimate. Yet, despite their range, each sculpture offers a moment of the sublime–beautiful, textured, assertive, and familiar, yet reaching into the vastness of something unknown.

Please join us for the opening reception and celebration of Parks Anderson’s return on Thursday, November 7th from 5:00–8:00 pm.

Oh, the joys of gallery life! ✨

Yesterday, we started the day strong, preparing and finalizing everything for the opening receptions of this month’s exhibitions. But, of course, things took an unexpected turn when Sarah and Deborah got stuck in the freight elevator about an hour before the doors opened! 😅

Despite the minor hiccup and being a little behind schedule, the celebration was a huge success. The paint dried, the gallery was packed, and the party was fantastic!

Thank you to our incredible artists for all your hard work. The exhibitions are absolutely stunning, and we couldn’t be more thrilled! 💫

Traver Gallery is thrilled to share the work of Ayako Hirogaki, a new and exceptional addition to our gallery roster. 💫

Based in New York, Ayako is a talented glass artist with a lifelong fascination of glass, sparked by her childhood visits to glassblowing studios. A graduate of the Tokyo Glass Art Institute and Toyama Institute of Glass Art, Ayako has developed her own unique techniques, exploring the interplay between the visible and invisible aspects of life—emotions, memories, and consciousness—through her work.

Ayako often uses the human body as a central motif, employing glass as her primary medium. The delicate and uncertain nature of glass, with its colorless and transparent qualities, is a vital aspect of her art. In this series, Ayako covers figures with countless glass rods, softening their contours and highlighting the fragility of the human form. This approach reflects the ephemeral nature of existence, capturing both the beauty of the human figure and the intricate patterns created by the glass rods.

We’re excited to share Ayako’s new glass sculptures with you and encourage you to make a trip to the gallery to view the work in person.

TOBIAS MØHL “Intentionally Accidental”
Opening Reception: Thursday, October 3rd, from 5–8 pm. The artist will be in attendance.

Traver Gallery is excited to present “Intentionally Accidental,” a solo exhibition featuring the latest works by renowned Danish glass artist Tobias Møhl. This exhibition showcases Møhl’s newest collections of intricately decorated bowls and lightboxes, each containing tall, silhouetted vessels that appear weightless. Complementing these works is an impressive new lighting installation composed of multiple glass components, adding an additional dimension of light and form to this elegant and visually dynamic exhibition.

Møhl’s glasswork has been widely recognized and is included in prestigious collections such as The Corning Museum of Glass (NY), Memorial Art Gallery (NY), Museum of Arts and Design (NY), Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe (Germany), and The Danish Museum of Decorative Art (Denmark), as well as numerous public and private collections across Europe and the United States.
