When paddling on rivers, steer clear of commercial vessels. They have the right of way in a navigation channel. Human-powered vessels should avoid commercial traffic. Boats don’t have brakes and it takes an average of ¾ to 1½ miles for a towboat pushing barges to stop.

Service Update: America the Beautiful Passes

Due to temporary staffing shortages, we will be unable to sell America the Beautiful federal park passes from Tuesday, September 1st through Friday, September 4th.

Additionally, our facility will be closed on Saturday, September 5th in observance of the federal holiday weekend. We will reopen and resume normal operations, including park pass sales, on Tuesday, September 8th. If you need a pass for the holiday weekend, please plan ahead. You can also purchase one at GGNRA or Lake Sonoma.

Look what the Drift Collector Raccoon found yesterday bobbing up in the waters near Redwood City. This 50-foot marine piling could have been a real navigational headache, but crew members successfully hauled it on deck for disposal. Great job out there, Raccoon crew! USACE South Pacific Division
