Hayes Valley Art Works invites artists and creators to submit work for our spring exhibition, BLOSSOM & SWING: Art, Color & Groove.
This show celebrates spring energy, color, rhythm, movement, and improvisation — art that feels alive with gesture, motion, texture, brightness, music, or renewal.
We welcome work that responds to the theme broadly: painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, mixed media, textiles, assemblage, collage, digital art, and other visual forms.
Think improvisation made visible: color that moves, forms that sway, images with pulse, pattern, play, bloom, beat, or unexpected rhythm.

Artists should submit work online.

CALL FOR ART: Blossom & Swing: Art, Color & Groove

Hayes Valley Art Works (HVAW) invites artists to submit work that pulses, is bold in color, alive with gesture and momentum. Think improvisation made visible: paintings that groove, sculptures that sway, photographs that catch the moment mid-swing. The exhibit will pair with two jazz jams. All styles and subjects welcome. Garden subjects go well with our gallery in garden, but not required. Works should feel at home in an intimate gallery space and pair naturally with live jazz in a community garden. Small to medium scale preferred (12"–24" encouraged). All media welcome.

• Submission Deadline: May 13, 2026
• Exhibition Opens: May 24, 2026
• (Opening reception details TBA — expect bubbly vibes and good music!)
Submission Guidelines
• Up to 3 works per artist
• All sizes and price points accepted
• Work must be ready to hang or display

Include:
• Title, medium, dimensions, and price (or NFS) for each piece
• Artist statement (max 150 words)
• Short bio (max 100 words)
• 1–2 images per work (high-res JPGs)
This is your chance to bloom loudly, bounce wildly, and be boldly spring. Let’s celebrate color, movement, humor, hope, and that electric “spring has sprung” feeling!
