Chris McCaw's A Sunburn for the Portland Art Museum (2012) is currently on view in A Brief History of Photography: The Landscape at the Portland Art Group, through July 5.

This one-of-a-kind work was created by McCaw in the park just outside the museum during a visit to Portland in 2012, using sunlight to physically burn the image into the photographic paper.

We're pleased to share that 's The Shape of Things (1981) will be on view at the Jan Shrem and Maria Manetti Shrem Museum of Art at UC Davis for Out of Line: Art at the Edge, a major exhibition exploring the relationship between artmaking and politics at UC Davis from the 1960s–80s.

A recent acquisition at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts highlights the depth of contemporary photography, including work by David Maisel —recognized for his investigations of landscape, industry, and environmental transformation.
