FOG Design+Art FOG 2023 will also feature a series of conversations in the FOG Theater, curated by Susan Swig, that are included with admission to the fair.

A platform for contemporary design and art that shifts, morphs, and reveals itself through multiple forms and dimensions.

Happening January 22-26 January 19-22, 2023

FOG Design+Art brings together an international selection of leading modern and contemporary art and design galleries; a weekend of exciting programs; and 21POP, a special installation created by Stanlee Gatti. FOG’s mission is to create a dialogue about the relationship between art and design, and to provide a platform for the Bay Area community, as well as an international host of curators, collectors, and art world enthusiasts, to experience works of contemporary art and design by some of the most celebrated dealers of 20th-century and contemporary work. Building on FOG’s longstanding commitment to SFMOMA, the Preview Gala and Innovators Luncheon support SFMOMA’s exhibitions and education programs, while FOG Forum specifically raises funds for the museum’s Architecture and Design department. The programming brings together leaders in the field of art, design, and technology to discuss some of today’s most relevant and pressing issues. The fair was initially conceived of, and is overseen by, a steering committee of individuals who champion art and design in the Bay Area: Douglas Durkin, Stanlee Gatti, Katie Paige, Sarah Wendell Sherrill, and Susan Swig.

Curious about FOG?

As we look ahead to FOG 2027, consider this an invitation to explore.

Wander the galleries. Stop when something catches your eye. Ask about a work you want to know more about. Sit in on a FOG Talk. Take a break, then go back for another look.

Whether you arrive with a plan or without one, leave room for the unexpected.

See where the day takes you.

This is FOG.

FOG Design+Art brings contemporary art and design together under one roof, pairing leading galleries with 20th-century and contemporary design dealers, and dynamic programming that celebrates San Francisco’s vibrant arts community.

For more than a decade, FOG has created an intimate setting for discovery, bringing art and design into conversation while connecting local and international creative communities at Fort Mason.

The FOG experience extends beyond gallery presentations through FOG Talks, artist activations, and programming across the fair. Through the annual Preview Gala, FOG also continues its longstanding support of SFMOMA’s exhibitions and education programs.

Even the name is distinctly San Francisco, a nod to the fog synonymous with the city.

FOG Design+Art returns to Fort Mason Center January 21-24, 2027, with the Preview Gala on Wednesday, January 20.
