The Fleet After Dark

The Fleet After Dark This is the place for news about the Fleet Science Center's 21+, fun after-hours events! Science is for all ages. The Fleet Science Center tailors specific programs to the adults of San Diego.
(9)

After work, head over to our social events that are held throughout the community and at our facility. All year long, the Fleet offers a wide variety of dynamic and engaging programs for adults who are curious and passionate about science. If you want to take a more social approach to your science discovery, join us at a Fleet Night of Science. Leave the kids at home and enjoy stimulating conversations about cutting-edge science, indulge in cocktails and let your curiosity run wild exploring our interactive exhibits. Science is in your everyday life; make it a part of your social life. Two Scientists Walk Into a Bar takes place at 25 different bars simultaneously across San Diego County. Quench your thirst for knowledge … and beer. After work, walk into a bar and meet local scientists and researchers from all types of fields. Ask questions about intriguing topics or inquire about literally anything; no topic is off-limits. Suds & Science is your monthly chance to connect with other curious scientific minds over a beer—or two—and take part in an in-depth discussion about important scientific topics. The Fleet partners with local bars and scientists to bring you an evening with a fun-yet-informative presentation, which kicks off an extended discussion between the scientist and the audience–all while the audience drinks along.

On this #GivingTuesday, all gifts to the Fleet Science Center will go to support our Distance Learning Hubs, which create a safe and positive learning environment. Almost 90% of kids in the Hubs are Title I students and underwriting from Fleet donors has supported the program. But that funding is about to run out just as we are hearing that schools may delay or limit reopening. We need your help to continue providing this valued service to families in our community. This Giving Tuesday, we need your help to keep the Fleet’s Distance Learning Hubs going for these students. Please donate today at www.fleetscience.org/donate.
