The mission of San Diego Emerging Museum Professionals is to facilitate career growth through networking and professional development opportunities. San Diego EMP welcomes members from all fields and is primarily composed of employees, volunteers, and students in their first ten years of a museum-related career. By offering regular meetups, workshops, tours, and other profession-related activities, San Diego EMP is a valuable resource for San Diego’s museum community.

August had so many memories with SDEMP events! We hosted 3 events with The San Diego Museum of Art, San Diego Int'l Airport, and chicanopark_museum and we had a summertime blast! 🌞 Many thanks for everyone who collaborated on these events and our SDEMP for showing out!

Thank you for attending our first August event: Community Art Day with . They hosted SDEMPs with transportation to Balboa Park, docent tour and we created some art pieces inspired by Louise Nevelson. 🏛️🎨 Our next event is our Art in Transit this Friday, August 21⋅11am – 1:00pm.

This new board year is kicking off with three events this August 🌞 We'll be joining for their Community Art Day first, then heading over to for an interactive panel, and finally we're tabling at 's GLAM Resource Fair (Galleries, Libraries, Archive & Museums). We hope to see you at these events! 🏛️

It's our end of the board year recap 📸 We're so proud of this board cohort and the passion they put into SD EMP shows: increasing our members to 970 SD EMPs and creating accessible professional development events for our museum-adjacent industry professionals. Thank you for keeping up to date with SD EMP and we're looking forward to seeing you at our last event in June before we introduce our new board!
