6 Books That Can Help You Talk to Your Child About Race and Diversity | The Children's Museum of Indianapolis

Through our words and actions, we must teach children to be kind, compassionate, and caring to everyone. Our friends at The Children's Museum of Indianapolis compiled a list of books to help start an age-appropriate conversation about race with your child: https://bit.ly/3cgAqjB

We have made the difficult decision to extend our temporary closure until further notice. The health and safety of our visitors, staff, and volunteers remains our top priority. We look forward to opening the museum's doors and seeing you again soon. Until then, since you can't come to us, we'll come...

‘Racism is a grown-up disease.’

For nearly 40 years, Discovery Center has served as a place where all children and their families are able to safely gather and learn together. We have provided open-ended playful learning experiences bringing children together in an environment that exposes them (and their grownups) to new ideas and beliefs. These playful experiences help us understand and appreciate our differences, as well as celebrate our commonalities.

Research shows that play fosters learning, reduces anxiety and brings people together. We look forward to welcoming families back into our space to play, explore, create and connect with each other.

Hi! I am inquiring about the tot classes and homeschool class next week (March 18th). Before I register, will they still be happening?
We had a great time visiting your discovery museum, and plan to visit again soon. You are doing some cool stuff over there. This is a link to a short video I edited of our visit! https://www.facebook.com/104046117645375/posts/104684150914905?sfns=mo
Thank you Discovery Center for the Bubble Show tickets. We weren't allowed to take pics, so you cant see the ear to ear smiles on the kids faces, but they LOVED the show . Thanks again.
I don't remember the name of the lovely lady that did the STEM Lab at our field trip last Tuesday, but it left an impression on this girl. She was doing the water cycle dance tonight! 😍😂
Kudos to James for interacting with the children visiting the Discovery Center today!
Miss Jenny is so awesome!
