Mae C. Jemison was born on October 17, 1956 in Decatur, Alabama. She became the first African American woman to be admitted into NASA’s astronaut training program. In 1992, she flew into space aboard the space shuttle Endeavour, becoming the FIRST African American woman in space!!

Neil deGrasse Tyson is an astrophysicist born on October 5, 1958 in New York City. He is known as one of the best African American scientists today. Neil published a catalog of research papers and 13 books! He is an author, science communicator, and educator. His interest in astrophysics was sparked by his first ever visit to the Hayden Planetarium when he was 9 years old. Neil turned his childhood passion into a lifetime career!

Thank you Discovery Center for the Bubble Show tickets. We weren't allowed to take pics, so you cant see the ear to ear smiles on the kids faces, but they LOVED the show . Thanks again.
I don't remember the name of the lovely lady that did the STEM Lab at our field trip last Tuesday, but it left an impression on this girl. She was doing the water cycle dance tonight! 😍😂
