WE NEED HELP- Please share.
Our AC/Heat unit unexpectedly shut down completely for the last time. We squeezed every last bit out of old one the last few years with repairs.
An AC contractor has replaced it with new in good faith that he will get paid so that our veterans and visitors would be comfortable during our open season right now.

DCVMA is proud to announce Joe Griffies as the recipient of the 2026 DCVMA President's Award!

Joe Griffies served his country in Vietnam with the 4th Division Infantry in 1967 and 1968. He never stopped serving.

For nearly 15 years, Joe has hosted the Welcome Home Veterans Radio Show on WIBG Radio in Ocean City, NJ — interviewing Medal of Honor recipients, POWs, Gold Star Families, Generals, Admirals, Senators, and Governors, all in the name of Veterans and their families.

But Joe's impact goes far beyond the airwaves. He played a key role in partnering with Senator Cory Booker on the Save Lives Act — expanding VA COVID-19 vaccinations from 9.5 million to 33 million Veterans, spouses, and caregivers. He helped broker the first-of-its-kind hospital access agreement between the Delaware VA and AtlantiCare, keeping Veterans from having to travel out of state for care. He fought to get the VA Su***de Hotline response time improved nationwide. He was recognized on the floor of the United States Congress for his work. And he has done all of this while sitting on Veteran advisory boards, co-founding Veterans parades, and advocating every single day for those who served.

A Chapel of Four Chaplains Humanitarian Award recipient. A Philadelphia Business Journal Veteran of Influence. A 2023 Veteran of the Year. And now, the 2026 DCVMA President's Award.

A wonderful Women Veterans Recognition day event yesterday inside the museum honoring ALL women veterans with a special recognition to Vietnam Veteran Staff Sergeant Michele Fennimore.
Thank you to all who attended and participated to honor all our women veterans.
Michele Yacura (later known as Michele Fennimore) is a United States Army veteran who served during the Vietnam War. She holds historical significance as one of the women who deployed to Southeast Asia to support military operations at the United States Army Vietnam (USARV) headquarters, at Long Binh base 1968-69.
She was awarded the Bronze Star with an Oak Leaf Cluster, which indicates she received this highly respected decoration twice during her service.
For women serving in the Women's Army Corps (WAC) during the Vietnam War, receiving a Bronze Star was a significant milestone that recognized outstanding devotion to duty, administrative leadership, and resilience under the constant threat of rocket and mortar attacks at major hubs like Long Binh Post.
We are honored to have Michele connected to the musuem. She is a inspiration and hero and will never be forgotten.
