Come learn how to play Wingspan at the Nature Center of Cape May! Tomorrow, Saturday October 3rd, we are hosting a tutorial game day! Our session will focus on a review of game objectives, setup, player actions, and goals. No experience necessary.

Can you believe it? Monarch Fest is this Sunday! We can't wait to see you there for a day of family-friendly fun!

Here's what you need to know before you go:
When: Sunday, September 27th 10am-4pm rain or shine!
Where: Nature Center of Cape May (1600 Delaware Avenue, Cape May NJ)
Cost: FREE, suggested $5 donation to support our outreach and education

Things to do:
🦋Butterfly yoga at 10AM
🦋Live music
🦋Make a monarch inspired craft
🦋Learn about monarchs during a tagging demonstration with
🦋Shop with local artisans and vendors!

Do you love monarchs (maybe just a little bit more than you should)? Then you’ll love Monarch Fest! Join us this Sunday, September 27th to celebrate monarchs as they migrate through Cape May. Keep reading for everything you need to know!

Date/Time⏰: Sunday, September 27th 10am-4pm

Schedule of events:
✨Butterfly Yoga: 10AM
✨Monarch Tagging Demonstrations: 10:30AM, 12PM, 1:30PM, & 3:30PM
✨Butterfly Parade: 3PM
✨All day: Enjoy music, food, make a craft to take home along with a monarch-themed souvenir from a local vendor. Discover what you can do to help protect these beautiful butterflies!

The days are getting shorter, and fall is right around the corner! To celebrate the changing of the seasons, we’re going to highlight a new species of fall blooming plant each week. Today’s plant is New England Aster!

Some highlights about New England Aster:
💜New England Aster has a long bloom period, so it supports nectaring species throughout the fall season, much long than many other plant species.

💜The purple flowers will attract lots of wildlife including birds, bees, caterpillars, butterflies, & moths!

💜New England Aster is a host plant to over 100 species of moths and butterflies!

"I never see you at the club!" Yeah, well I never see you at the Nature Center of Cape May!

Join us this Saturday, September 19th for the "Night Shift at the Nature Center", an adults-only after-hours program at the Nature Center of Cape May!

During this program you will:
✨Enjoy a self-guided tour of our center Meet our ambassador animals
✨Delve into the world of nocturnal insects with a moth-sheeting demonstration
✨Cozy up at our bonfire and enjoy complimentary s’mores under the stars

This week concludes the first Monarch Drop-In programs at NJ Audubon's Nature Center of Cape May of the season. We had a great time learning about monarch butterfly ecology and their current conservation challenges with naturalists from Cape May Monarchs

Didn't make it to the programs? Don't worry! They will be
"dropping-in" to the Nature Center every Monday and Wednesday now through October 14th. This FREE program is great for anyone interested in monarch butterflies, native gardening, or just nature in general!

When: Mondays and Wednesdays, 10:30am-11:15am
Where: Nature Center of Cape May (1600 Delaware
Avenue, Cape May NJ)

P.S. You can also find the Monarch Monitoring Project team at the Cape May Point State Park for their tagging demonstrations on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays
