It's re**er madness! Our recent 1940s-1950s theme day brought three impressive refrigerated unit trains to our HO scale layout - one each from the SP, WP, and the Santa Fe. With a little planning, we arranged a 3-way meet here in the hills above Pleasanton. Sure it tied up the whole railroad, but... worth it!

For the first time in a long time, steam locomotives have a proper home on our HO layout! Our West Oakland turntable has been out of service for several seasons now as more pressing matters took priority, but thanks to the tireless work of our HO scale crew (thanks, Phil!), this beautiful SP mogul can go for a spin!

The Blue Goose - the Santa Fe's one-of-a-kind streamlined steam locomotive - hauls a heavyweight passenger train across the Alhambra Viaduct, spanning the Muir estate in Martinez on our HO Scale layout.
