🌌 How much do we really know about the Universe?

Join us Thursday, September 10 for a journey to the edge of our knowledge with physicist Daniel Whiteson. From the mysteries of the tiniest particles to the size and origin of the entire cosmos—and whether there are aliens out there asking the same questions and finding the same answers—this Dome Talk explores some of the biggest mysteries in modern physics.

Whiteson is a physics professor at UC Irvine and a researcher at CERN’s Large Hadron Collider. He is co-host of the podcast Daniel and Kelly’s Extraordinary Universe and co-author of Do Aliens Speak Physics? and We Have No Idea.

🎉 Three speakers in—and the momentum keeps building!

Our speaker series has been a tremendous success so far, bringing great crowds, fascinating conversations, and memorable evenings to the San Bernardino County Museum.

Now, we’re excited to continue the series with our third featured speaker, Dr. Emily Lindsey, Curator and Excavation Site Director at the La Brea Tar Pits who will explore the mysteries behind the extinction of Ice Age megafauna and the lessons they offer.

Beginning Saturday, August 1, admission prices at the San Bernardino County Museum will be updated.

Your support helps us care for our collections, create new exhibits, expand educational programs, and continue providing meaningful experiences for visitors of all ages.

We're committed to keeping the Museum accessible. Members and children 5 and under remain free, and through Museums for All, EBT cardholders and their guests can visit for just $1 per person.

Join us this evening at the San Bernardino County Museum as we welcome Rosanna Xia—Pulitzer Prize finalist, Los Angeles Times environmental reporter, author, and documentary filmmaker—for an engaging conversation about California's changing coastline and the stories shaping our future.

Drawing from her acclaimed book California Against the Sea, Rosanna will explore sea level rise, climate change, and how journalism helps us understand the challenges ahead.
