When I first started getting serious about art, these were the kind of projects I absolutely loved. Wildlife art, specifically portrait art with graphite pencil. In fact, I didn’t want to do anything else. Fortunately, I’ve since adopted an affinity for oil paints and landscape work but still love doing these small graphite portraits.

Still playing with the 8”x8” canvas size and my latest subject is this handsome chamois. Painted one of these guys many years ago and had been feeling the itch to do another. I’ve only seen these animals in photos and film. Looking forward to seeing them in person someday.
