Summer Open Studio

Looking to connect with other artists? We like to joke that Open Studio doubles as an emotional support group for creatives. Joking aside, it’s a great way to meet fellow artists, make progress on that piece you’ve been putting off, and spend meaningful time creating. Join us.

Time: 5:00–8:00 PM

How does it work?
Open Studio is a relaxed, shared studio evening built around one simple idea: making art together.

• Bring your own project or start something new
• No instruction
• All skill levels welcome
• A place to slow down, connect, and create alongside others

SUMMER YOUTH WORKSHOP ALERT!

July 9 | 10:00 AM–1:00 PM

We are excited to offer a youth centered three-hour drawing workshop with Snake River High School art instructor and accomplished artist, Tim Goodworth!

Students will learn essential drawing fundamentals, including how to break down complex subjects into simple shapes, develop confident line work, and build drawings from big forms to refined details. Emphasis will be placed on observation, proportion, and creating a strong foundation for future artwork.

The Art of Color: Structure
April 24–25 | 9 am to 5 pm.

🖼️Many paintings begin with clarity, but as they develop, color relationships can become difficult to manage. This workshop is designed to help artists maintain structure and control so their work stays unified from the first mark to the final decision.

🎨Participants will learn how to:
Maintain clarity as a painting develops
Keep color relationships working together rather than competing
Make confident decisions that hold, instead of constantly correcting

🖌️This workshop is part of Danene’s four-part Art of Color system: Perception, Commitment, Structure, and Restraint, with this session focusing on Structure.

🌞SUMMER YOUTH ART CLASSES & TEEN STUDIO
🖌️ Coming to the Poco arts center this summer. This is a wonderful opportunity for your young artist to develop new skills, experiment with new materials and connect with peers in a creative, supportive environment!

🎨Led by Madison Hoagland, an Idaho State University Honors Program student who has also taught in the summer program at Grace Lutheran School.

😎 This program runs during the summer months (June 3–August 22) on Wednesdays in 1-hour blocks. Purchase a 4-class punch card for $60 for Members or $80 for Non Members; or a 2-class punch card for $30 for Members or $50 for Non-Members. A youth membership is just $15 per year making it a great option for families with multiple artists!
