Complete your Historic Philadelphia experience with an exploration of First Amendment freedoms and civil liberties in our permanent and featured exhibitions. Whether guided by Museum Educators or exploring on your own, a field trip to the National Liberty Museum empowers students to be civic actors in their own communities.

The National Liberty Museum, in association with Virgil Films and the Flyers Alumni Association will host an exclusive screening of  Cold War in Philly: Flyers vs. Russia 1976. on September 23, 2026.
 
VIP reception to begin at 6PM.  General Admission doors open at 7PM. Seating is extremely limited.  Get your tickets at the link in our bio today!

The Flame Award honors an individual who exemplifies freedom of thought, civil discourse, and respect for all while tirelessly pursuing and enhancing personal and civil liberties for their community and beyond.
 
This year’s Flame Award is dedicated to internationally acclaimed blues musician Dr. Daryl Davis, who exemplifies all that the award means in every aspect of his life and career. Dr. Davis is an activist who has spent his life converting K*K members. As a race relations expert Dr. Daryl Davis has received numerous awards and high acclaim for his book Klan-Destine Relationships and his award-winning film documentary Accidental Courtesy. He is the first Black author to write a book on the Ku Klux Klan based upon in-person interviews and personal encounters.
