Join us for a spooky day of family fun in Philadelphia’s Historic District! On Sunday, October 18, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

Start your adventure at the Independence Visitor Center, where we’ll be handing out treat bags and maps for all trick-or-treaters. The map will guide you to participating organizations like the National Liberty Museum throughout the district, some offering special events, programs, and of course, candy!

We are excited to announce that our next Community Open House days will be Saturday, November 7 and Saturday, December 5 from 10am – 4pm with Pay What You Wish Admission!!!!

Explore the Museum’s compelling exhibits, which examine our right to assemble, at our Community Open House – an inspiring day for families, educators, and curious minds of all ages. This pay-what -you-wish admission day will feature programs for all ages and interests. It’s the perfect chance to create, connect, and celebrate the power of community.

What does it mean to have the courage to engage with those whose beliefs may be fundamentally different from our own?

On October 22, the National Liberty Museum will explore that question through our Flame Award & Gala, where we will honor Dr. Daryl Davis with the Flame of Liberty Award.

An internationally acclaimed blues musician, author, and civil rights leader, Dr. Davis has spent decades using conversation and personal engagement to challenge prejudice and build bridges across divides.

His work reflects the values at the heart of the National Liberty Museum: freedom of thought, civil discourse, courage, and respect for all.

We are proud to celebrate Dr. Davis and his extraordinary contributions to these ideals.

Step into the founding era at the National Liberty Museum.

On October 8, All About Assembly: Founders Unfiltered in partnership with Historic Philadelphia brings the people and ideas of America’s founding era into conversation with our exhibition on free assembly.

Beginning with Patrick Henry’s “Give me liberty or give me death” speech, the evening will feature George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, and Abigail Adams as they explore the creation of the nation’s governing institutions and the evolution of American government and political culture.

After the discussion, enjoy drinks and meet the historical characters for yourself!

October 8th, 2026 - mark your calendars for our next All About Assembly, Speaker Series!

This program brings key figures from America’s founding era into conversation with the National Liberty Museum’s exhibition on free assembly. Beginning with the colonial congresses and the creation of the nation’s governing institutions, the discussion will explore how American government and political culture have evolved—and what the founders might make of the country today.

The panel will feature George Washington, Ben Franklin, and Abigail Adams. It will open by the “Give me liberty or give me death” speech by Patrick Henry. At drinks afterwards guests will be able to speak to historical characters.
