Imagine spending a day making things, meeting fellow creatives, sharing ideas, and picking up a few tips on the business side of art. Better yet, don't imagine it. Join us for Piccalilli.

This year's keynote speaker and one of our workshop presenters is Rosalie Haizlett, a West Virginia-based nature illustrator, author, and educator known for her watercolor and ink illustrations of the plants, fungi, and tiny creatures that call Appalachia home.

Your conference registration includes breakfast, a catered lunch, access to all Friday programming, and the opportunity to display your work in a Pop-Up Exhibit.
Spend your day learning about the business side of being an artist, dive into hands-on art making workshops, or hop between the two. The choice is yours. Piccalilli is designed for anyone who enjoys art, from college students to hobby artists to professionals. Think of it as your art spa day.

The fun continues Friday evening with Art After Hours, the opening reception for the Allied Artists: 72nd Juried Exhibit, On & Off the Wall: ReStore ReDesign and Ki No Kaze: The Art of Bonsai exhibits, plus food, drinks, and a chance to network with others from around the state and beyond. It's also Meet Me on Market night, so pop-ups will be happening up and down Market Street from 5 to 7:30 p.m.

Come see "The River" before it's gone! On display (and many pieces for sale) through September 5. Open 10 to 5, Tuesday through Saturday. Note: we'll be closing at 3:30 this Saturday for a special event.

Join us in celebrating some of the finest artists from both sides of the mighty Ohio River. This is one of the best shows you'll find in our region. We may even say THE best.

And in true PAC fashion, there's no admission fee. Kids can enjoy a Lego zone, and everyone gets to vote for the People's Choice award. This is your Art Center. Come enjoy it!

Shout out to iHeart Media Parkersburg for supporting the Art Center and our many programs and activities. Through radio promotions and shared events like the iHeart Summer Jam Concert series, they help us reach more people.

There are so many ways businesses can invest in the arts. Financial assistance is wonderful and needed, but marketing support and event sharing is also an excellent way to contribute.

Sweet September: Pool Noodle Donut Prints

Create these sweet and colorful donut prints using pool noodles! This isn’t just a piece of cake though…you will learn how to create shapes, shadows, highlights, color theory and how to use random items to imprint your sprinkles, icing and more. Pre-school Picasso begins again in September! Sign your preschooler up for a session or two today!

Drop your preschooler off for an afternoon of art, songs, stories and creative play with ArtStart preschool teachers! Children ages 3-5 (and toilet trained) will be able to create projects using a variety of mediums in this four-week class series. This class meets Friday afternoons for 4 weeks per session.

Session 1: Fridays, September 4-25, 12:30-2pm with Miss Jess
Session 2: Fridays, October 2-23, 12:30-2pm with Miss Maia
Session 3: Fridays, October 30-November 20, 12:30-2pm with Miss Summer

Crazy-Messy-Kids Craft Club begins again next week! Register today at the link below.

Cassette Tape Canvas Throwback will be a blast from the past! Tracy will help you design and create your very own colorful and funky Mix-Tape painting on canvas. Wear your fave throwback era clothing, hair and accessories and bring a snack! Adults and Teens 14+. 12 students.

Join Haila and Jennifer in The Market at the Parkersburg Art Center this Saturday anytime between 12 noon and 4 p.m. Drop-in and play with wet felting with a real pro. No need to pre-register but please plan to make a donation at the event if you are able.
