Hi friends,
What a whirlwind this summer has been! Open Space on La Salle Street has been a dream come true, classes are full, everyone's loving the new space, and the vibes are perfect! Open Space Kids opened last week and we couldn't be more thrilled with how amazing fun and colorful the space is. Classes start this week and we are so excited to welcome the kids back. Autumn in Ottawa is sure to be a creative one now that both studios are up and running!

Looking Ahead
Ottawa's Third Friday Makers Market has a makeup date! We had to reschedule our August event due to storms so we will be pairing up with The Victorian Haunting and offer a Saturday (Yup! Third Friday on a Saturday) market from 2-8PM on Madison Street!

We offer a variety of drop-in friendly craft projects anytime during open hours and we just added all our spooky crafts! Paint your own pottery, trinket dish, house, canvas, tote bag and more. Beaded photo frames, keychains and planters. Pearler art, pressed flowers, candle making, clay projects, wood burning, mosaics and more! Drop in today and make something with us!

I’m Nellie, and Nellie’s Nook is my little corner of the world where self-care, creativity, and fun come together.
I make as much as possible with my own two hands, creating colorful, feel-good things that are meant to be enjoyed — whether you’re treating yourself, picking out a gift for someone you love, or simply taking a few minutes for yourself.
Because I believe the little things matter. That feeling you get when you light your favorite candle, find a scent you love, run a bath, unwrap something cute, or give someone a gift that feels just right — that’s what Nellie’s Nook is all about.

Liberty Arts Festival (Make Up Date)
Saturday, October 17th
The Liberty Arts Festival has been rescheduled due to inclement weather. The new date is Saturday, October 17th. Registration has reopened. Artists registered for the original August date are signed up for the new October date. Talent line up, music, and additional events will be confirmed.

Here are some upcoming workshops and locations. If you are new to crochet and wanting to learn, please let Annette Barr know when you plan to attend. I want to make sure I have enough supplies on hand. **Please note that Oct. 14 at Open Space is just a drop-in session. Someone will be there to assist with basic questions but there will not be any instruction offered that night. Annette will not be in attendance.

What we're listening to
Im always looking for new music inspiration to listen to while creating! I thought it would be fun to share what I've been listening to lately, and if you feel like sharing your inspiring tunes, i'd love to listen!
Vinyl Moon
Okay, so this ones a little different. We just subscribed to the Vinyl Moon Mixtape subscription and you get new mixtape style record each month! They curate an awesome selection of music and the artwork is so cool! If you don't want to commit to a subscription, they have playlists on Spotify too! I love finding new bands and I've loved everything on these playlists so far.
