Weekly view from our "Gift" section of smaller items. Assemblage art is becoming more and more popular - using found items to create unique pieces like this one by Yaquina Art Association member Sue Adams' piece entitled "Adventure".

While we are on the topic of assemblage art, here is another fun piece by another 'Sue'! Sue Chittenden created "Sea, Shell and Sand" turning those very items and more, i.e. sea glass and driftwood, into a thing of beauty and a tribute to the Oregon seashore!

Stop in to see the work of the two Sues and another 108 local artists. Open every day from 11 - 5 through Labor Day.

Alana Williams, on top of being a talented artist, has a fun side that makes beautiful and useful potholders with additional layers for burn protection, and they are just waiting for you at the YAA Gallery. Add a touch of handmade elegance to your kitchen and be safer, as well! This is a popular item!

For a touch of whimsy added to your day, check out Megan Feeney's wrapped stones. They come with a groovy key or some other treasure to make you smile and to share with friends! Maybe we can call them Keystones, and you make up the story that goes with them.

Wednesday Meet the YAA Artists. From the remodeled "Gift" section of smaller items.

Veta Bakhtina is a Russian American artist, oil painter, muralist, and children’s book author whose work blends Slavic heritage with dreamlike, nostalgic imagery.

Veta specializes in oil painting and is known for her pop-surreal and dreamlike works that often incorporate Slavic folk art aesthetics. Her principal theme, Internal Landscapes, explores natural phenomena such as the deep sea, cosmos, and psyche, merging folkloric symbolism with spiritual and scientific motifs. Her work frequently addresses the fantastical. Come see more!

Long time member of the YAA, Josephine Allen, is a fun watercolorist with talent that continues to impress. Some of her work is humorous such as the refrigerator magnets shown below, but this avian painting shows her ability to create a beautiful nature scene with this "Love Bird".

We are so fortunate to have such a talent join our group here at the Yaquina Art Association Gallery!

YAA is a group of 110 LOCAL artists who work in a variety of mediums. Some work is serious while other is whimsical or just fun. Check it out soon and bring your friends for a good time.
