Come work where marine science meets the public!

Oregon Sea Grant is hiring a Part Time Seasonal Cashier at the Hatfield Marine Science Visitor Center in Newport. Welcome visitors, share the wonders of marine science, and be part of a place that inspires more than 70,000 visitors every year.

This position works 2–3 days a week, welcoming visitors, answering questions, handling admissions and payments, assisting with exhibits and volunteers, and helping keep the Visitor Center running smoothly.

Yesterday we hosted a youth delegation from Mombetsu, Japan who are part of the Sister City exchange program with Newport, Oregon. Newport and Mombetsu may be on different sides of the Pacific Ocean but they are both fishing communities with many similar species and concerns. It was a great learning experience for us all to discover all the things we have in common!
