We have a new Featured Artist in the Visitor Center! Artist Mark Rhea created these beautiful digital drawings, printed them using archival inks and paper, and has displayed them in his own handmade frames. These works will be on display through August. Don't miss the chance to see these beauties in person, and perhaps purchase one for yourself!

Come visit Oregon Sea Grant's Special Projects Coordinator Cait Goodwin at the Newport Farmers Market this Saturday! Cait will be sharing info about our exhibits, coastal hazards, and the new blue whale skeleton!

The Hatfield Marine Science Center is Oregon State Universityโ€™s (OSU) coastal campus for research, education, and outreach in marine sciences. They are this week's featured guest, and can be found at the Community Outreach booth this Saturday June 6th from 9-1pm at the Newport Farmers Market!

If you didnโ€™t make it out to the tidepools today to take advantage of the lowest tides of the year, you can still come see some amazing sea creatures at the Hatfield Marine Science Visitor Center! We are open until 4 pm today and will be open seven days a week from 10 am to 5 pm starting Memorial Day through Labor Day. Admission is just $5 and free for those age 4 and under!

Did you know that the octopuses on exhibit at the Hatfield Marine Science Visitor Center are generously donated? We are currently looking for live octopus donations from crabbers, fishermen, divers and others who inadvertently catch these curious animals.

Please note that a state-issued shellfish license is required to make an octopus donation. Please contact 541-272-4207 or 801-556-8220 if you have an octopus to donate!
