Where Science-Fiction becomes a reality 🤖🪱

The concept of nanobot or swarm intelligence isn't new, but translating that into future applications is a lot more complicated. Scientists are studying how large masses of worms communicate and survive as a way to better program robots. With this data, a series of robotic models were able to mirror the worms' behavior and act out more complex instruction with ease.

Who knows what we'll be able to adapt next? 👉

By studying the natural world, scientists will soon be able to design robots that seem to be plucked straight from science fiction!

We will be closed today and tomorrow as we assess damage from the fire at Pacific Seafood yesterday and will update once we know more. We are incredibly grateful to be a part of this community and Newport's Bayfront, we have certainly felt the love and care that comes with that. We are a collection of shops, restaurants, tours and an active fishing community and it's pretty special to see how connected we all are. A BIG thank you to all of the first responders who worked tirelessly to get the fire under control and keeping it contained to limit the spread sparing more businesses and no injuries. Our thoughts are with our neighbors at Pacific Seafood as they recover and rebuild. We appreciate everyone's patience as things get back up and running.

If spiders give you the creeps, know that Joro spiders are here to help! And more importantly here to stay 👉

Researchers at the University of Georgia predict an explosion of hand-sized Juro spiders floating as far north as Delaware this spring.
