FYI: The Whitney Museum has an immediate opening for a research assistant to work on a ground-breaking retrospective exhibition of a dancer and choreographer. The incumbent will work alongside curatorial and publications staff to realize the exhibition and publication; responsibilities will include conducting research, making checklist updates, compiling bibliographic backmatter, obtaining image use permissions, research, and logistical support. Demonstrated expertise in the history of dance and choreography is required; specific knowledge of dance of the African Diaspora preferred.

The position will be part-time, 20 hours a week and will run through September 2023. The position will be primarily remote, although the candidate will travel to Washington DC and make regular visits to the Museum in New York City.

The arts econ is important and generated $118 bill prepandemic.

For film-specific, I’d say I’d make sure that we bring back the more than 100,000 jobs in the film industry we had in NYC Pre-pandemic and provide incentives for filming in NYC. Some filming moved update during the pandemic, we need to bring them back.”

Grants Coordinator (Grantmaking)
The Grants Coordinator will work closely with the Director of Programs on the planning, administration, and ex*****on of A.R.T./New York grant/funding programs as well as providing administrative support for the department. Senior Manager of Institutional Giving
The Senior Manager of Institutional Giving will:
Research and identify prospective corporate, foundation, and government donors to support programmatic activities, general operating support, and capital planning.
Maintain the grants calendar including tracking deadlines, correspondence with funders/prospects, and the arrival of gifts/pledges through DonorPerfect.
Prepare presentations, letters of inquiry, grant proposals, reports, and strategic communications for foundations, corporations, and government agencies.
Partner with A.R.T./New York staff and Board of Directors to maintain a clear and detailed understanding of A.R.T./New York’s mission, programs and services, and the members we impact to create compelling proposals and donor materials.
Participate in Ethics and Accountability Committee meetings, subcommittees, staff working sessions and training, and ongoing evaluation towards Interdisciplinary Teams.
Organize and participate in donor visits, tours, and presentations as well as other stewardship opportunities in collaboration with the Executive Director and Director of Development.
Support other development activities including the annual gala and other fundraising events.
