đź’™ **A Community Update from Brainstorms**
Last night, the New Port Richey Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) postponed its decision on the proposals for the future use of the Main & Bank building, including Brainstorms’ proposal for a permanent Science Discovery Center.
We want our supporters and the community to know that **we respect the CRA’s process and welcome the additional review and discussion.** A project of this size and importance deserves thoughtful questions, careful consideration, and good information before a decision is made.
As Daisy Thomas, Vice President of the Brainstorms Board of Directors, shared:
> “Our responsibility isn’t simply to advocate for our proposal. It is to ensure the CRA and the public can examine it, question it, and make a decision grounded in good information. Good governance requires that kind of scrutiny. We welcome it, we are confident in the work behind our proposal, and we will continue to answer questions openly as the process moves forward.”
Our vision remains the same: transforming the 14,397-square-foot Main & Bank building into a **year-round Science Discovery Center** where children, families, schools, homeschoolers, and the community can explore hands-on STEAM education, environmental science, technology, the arts, and discovery.
Our proposal includes a **phased approach**, professional due diligence, design and cost validation, funding confirmation, permitting, and other safeguards before construction. We have also proposed measurable public-benefit goals and a diversified operating model designed to support the Center for the long term.

Thank you to the residents, parents, educators, business owners, supporters, and community members who came out last night, asked questions, shared ideas, and participated in the conversation about the future of downtown New Port Richey.
We have always believed that **community involvement matters**, which is why Brainstorms has hosted multiple opportunities for questions and conversation throughout this process. We will continue to make ourselves available as the CRA’s review continues.
While the Main & Bank proposal remains under consideration, **Brainstorms is not standing still.** We will continue our educational programming, community partnerships, and efforts to bring meaningful hands-on learning opportunities to children and families throughout the region.
A project intended to serve a community for decades deserves thoughtful consideration. **We’re ready for that conversation, ready for the questions, and confident in the vision we’ve worked so hard to build.**
