Three more artists with their work in the Expressions of Faith exhibition with a wide range of mediums. L: Christina Lockamy made this barn quilt 'The Only Way' on aluminum composite material. R top: Diane Luke with her mixed media 'Nautical Fun' and 'Silence.' She also has note cards and prints on display. R bottom: Tom Crews with his acrylic 'John 19:26 Dear Woman, Behold Your Son,' oil on linen 'Statue of St. John of the Cross, Ubeda, Spain' and oil on linen 'Basilica de Paray-le-Monial Saone-et-Loire, France.'

Thank you to everyone who attended the reception for the Expressions of Faith exhibit. We had a terrific turnout on Sunday, despite the weather. For those who missed it or want to see the show again, we have another opportunity this Sunday, the 18th from 2:00-4:00 pm. This Sunday is the first of three Artist Presentation Series. Come and listen to Maureen Swindell, Pete Rudolph and Marie Shelton discuss their art and creative focus.

Judd Snapp is a local wood worker inspired by nature. His Sun Sets chair is made from cypress and oak. The cutting boards are made from various woods.

Jim Bumpas is a lathe wood turner artist represented in the gallery. He uses pieces of wood with markings from insect and disease to create unique pieces. Top: Dare to Turn 1, Bleached Ambrosia Maple, markings came from the Ambrosia Beetle. Bottom Left: River Tree, Black Ash Burl, the wood came from a tree blown down by a hurricane and fell into the James River. Bottom center: Sea Turtles OBX, Basswood, turned on lathe turned then carved and burned to highlight the turtle shapes. Bottom Right: Walnut with African Blackwood Finial.

Sharon Whitehurst, the Director of Ghost Fleet Gallery has dyed her hair with peacock colors. If you ask about her hair she will tell you "God told me to be a peacock." These handmade quilts are called Eure Collaborations. The images are by Glenn Eure and his youngest daughter, Mary Eure Shea selects the border materials. The quilting is hand guided by Mary.
