One of the things we love most about the gallery is when our artists stop by for a visit! 🎨

We had such a nice visit with wildlife artist David Starbuck! David has a wonderful way of capturing the personality and spirit of the animals he paints. And knowing how much he loves spending time outdoors makes his artwork even more meaningful.

Can you almost hear the waves calling you? 🌊

We have a beautiful new arrival! Mighty (Psalm 93:4), an original acrylic painting on canvas by Dina Vacho, captures that peaceful walk through the dunes toward the ocean.

The title comes from a Bible verse reminding us that God is mightier than the powerful waves of the sea. What a lovely thought to carry with you!

Look what just arrived at the gallery! ⛵

Chasing the Wind, an original oil painting by M. Charles, takes us back to an earlier era of the Outer Banks. M. Charles was one of the area's most important artists from the 1960s through the 1980s, capturing the coastal life and maritime heritage that make this place so special.

And sailing ships are a particularly rare subject for him!

This classic still life of a vase filled with late stage sunflowers is the embodiment of October. It’s rich color palette hearkens the golden colors of an autumn landscape. Like the tree leaves, so too do the sunflowers eventually wither and perish. But there is something beautiful about the ruggedness of aging gracefully. Debra Keirce invites the viewer to ponder this in the uniqueness of her favorite flower.

There’s something about a working boat at rest that makes you wonder about all the stories it could tell.

Down Time, an acrylic painting by Dan Dunn, captures that quiet pause when the work has stopped and the boat is out of the water. Dan’s earthy colors and loose, expressive details give the scene a wonderful sense of age and character.
