The Tally Ho! series is on the move again with two stops this month, both of which are free.

July 17, 10 AM, Muskegon Lake Nature Preserve: we're calling it "the great filter." Come learn how marshlands slow down water and sediment, and meet the wildlife that depends on them.

July 21, 10 AM, Hoffmaster State Park: a staff-guided tour through the dunes and the creatures who call them home. (Note: Hoffmaster requires a state park permit. Day passes are available on-site, or check with your local library.)

Some of Muskegon's neediest residents have four legs and a tail.

We've teamed up with Big Lake Humane Society for an afternoon focused on adoption, fostering, and giving back, plus a craft station where kids can make their own pet name plates.

Bringing a donation? We're collecting cat and dog food, toys, litter, pet beds, small blankets, paper towels, garbage bags, and laundry detergent.

Wednesday, July 15, 1–3 PM, in the Museum auditorium.

Two episodes, one theme: trash doesn't have to be trash.

We're screening a pair of Nature Cat episodes about recycling this Friday, then turning what we learn into actual bird feeders made from recycled materials.

Popcorn's on us, but bring your own drink.

Friday, July 10, 4:30–6 PM. No registration needed. Free for Muskegon County residents and members, $5 for those out of county.

Every Saturday in July, the museum turns into something a little different.

July 11: trace Michigan's growth through historic maps, from the Revolution to the mineral boom that built our state.
July 18: Nature Cat pays us a visit for Nature Cat Day
July 25: a museum-wide bingo hunt where the clues are zoomed-in mystery objects hiding in our galleries.

Noon to 2 PM each Saturday. Free for members and Muskegon County residents, $5 for everyone else.
