Last week, we were proud to host the opening of our newest exhibit, “What’s the Station?” This exhibit celebrates Black media trailblazers from the 1960s to the present and highlights voices and stories from print, radio, and broadcasting. Thank you to everyone who joined us for the opening event. If you missed it, the exhibit is open during museum hours, Wednesday–Saturday from 11:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.

A very special thank you to our exhibit curators, Dr. Pamela Smith and Mr. Andrew Sims, for their dedication and hard work in bringing this exhibit to life. We also extend our gratitude to the many trailblazers who shared their experiences and helped tell this important story.

🌷 Did you know this month in history, in May of 1929, the first Tulip Time Festival in Holland took place?

The idea for the festival originated from Holland High School teacher Lida Rogers. To celebrate the area’s Dutch heritage and the flower of the Netherlands, she envisioned the city blanketed in tulips every spring. The festival has now grown to a well-known weekend full of food, entertainment, and events.
