Engaging Curious Minds to Fuel the Future! Located in Murfreesboro, Discovery Center encourages children to venture in and learn about the world around them.

Explore our hands-on exhibits and participate in programs in arts, culture, science, health, and the environment. We are located on 20 acres of urban wetlands teeming with native plants and animals. Take a walk on our elevated boardwalk through the wetlands, check out Murfree Spring, or walk on over to Nature Play for some outdoor fun! Our admission is $15 for everyone 2 and up. We're incredibly grateful to the Nashville Predators Foundation for awarding Discovery Center a $5,071 Helper Grant! 💛🏒

This year, the Foundation distributed a record $855,642 to 199 nonprofits across Middle Tennessee — and we're honored to be one of them.

🦎 Meet Reggie, one of our our Animal Ambassadors! 🌵 With his bright eyes and bumpy, beautiful skin, this leopard gecko is a desert expert and a master of nighttime adventures.

Reggie is nocturnal, which means he's built for life after dark, exploring and hunting once the desert cools off under the stars. During the day? You'll usually find him tucked into a burrow or hiding under rocks, beating the heat in true desert-survivor style.

As a cold-blooded reptile, Reggie relies on the temperature around him to keep his body running smoothly. And when desert heat gets extreme, wild leopard geckos like him may even estivate, a special deep rest (think: a supercharged nap) that helps them survive scorching summers. ☀️

Stop by the Discovery Center to see if Reggie is peeking out from his hideaway — you just might catch this little nighttime explorer in action!

Discover the amazing animals that call the wetlands home and enjoy an up-close animal encounter featuring some of Discovery Center's very own animals ambassadors. Then join us for a walk to explore the wetlands and see the incredible work our local beavers have been doing!
