Friends! We are thrilled to welcome Renowned Artist, Michele Hausman to Reflections Elegante Gallery. Come in and see her spectacular paintings with amazing color and design, natural scenes of our beautiful Coastal California.

Here is her Bio

Michele Hausman has been a full time artist creating oil landscape paintings for nearly thirty years. Her strong use of color is commented on by collectors and art appreciators. Living on California’s Central Coast, she is inspired by the vibrant colors of the sea, the golden hills, and the autumn vines as they turn crimson and auburn.

Hausman believes that painting is a life-long journey of learning to see. She paints to put her passion for her subject into the visual language of painting. She is concerned about the preservation of open spaces that offer all of us solace. It is her intent that her paintings inspire viewers to appreciate the natural beauty around us. Being a resident of coastal California, she makes frequent plein air excursions to the coast to further her experience of painting. In her Soquel studio, Hausman expands her studies made on location to larger paintings. Hausman travels with her art materials in tow. In addition to her primary goal of creating and selling original oil paintings, she has also taught painting in classes and workshops and licensed her work for publications and promotional posters.

Hausman continues to be involved in the arts community of the Central California area. In 2001, Hausman co-founded the Santa Cruz Oil Painters (SCOP), and is the current president. Hausman is a signature member of the Monterey Bay Plein Air Painters Association (MBPAPA) and served as exhibition chairperson for 2 years. Hausman was represented in the Monterey Museum of Art Biennial in 2025. She is represented in California by LunaSea gallery in Pescadero, Wisteria Antiques in Soquel, Reflections Elegant Gallery in Monterey, and ACCI Gallery in Berkeley.

Hausman works to nurture and expand her circle of collectors through galleries, exhibitions, her website, and a periodic e-newsletter. Sharing her art and love of the natural world with others brings her great joy.

Reflections Elegante Gallery is happy to be representing Artist, Richard Klevins. https://www.richardklevins.com
In his own words, Richard tells us about his background and his work en plein air and in the studio:

I began painting 20 years ago; it is my passion. I paint outdoors every week and produce miniatures. Typically, 5 x 7” to 11 x 14”. I do studio paintings from photos and use the miniatures for reference. I do these locally in California, also while traveling especially in Latin America, Asia, Europe, and Africa. I paint outdoors (plein air) weekly in the Monterey Bay area and California and during my travels. Most of my small paintings are plein air. I travel to countries that present a background of marvelous architecture and scenery plus the added attraction of wonderfully friendly, attractive people in native costume. I am now combining portraiture with subjects photographed or sketched while traveling. Many of my landscapes are miniatures done plein air (on site) although I work large, so far up to 4’ x 5’. I do a limited number of commission portraits as well as large figurative and landscape paintings, street, and interior scenes. I donate paintings for fund raising for the Santa Cruz Symphony and others.

I have studied with many fabulous artists without whom I would never have been able to accomplish and learn what I have. Those teachers and mentors include but are not limited to: Brian Blood, Gill Dillinger, Ned Mueller, Brad Roberts, Mark Farina and many others.
