Claire Sutton Paivine, better known as “Bunny,” was a high school art teacher in Salinas for 30 years at the continuation school. All the students were considered "at risk.”She believes in teaching self esteem through art, and although retired continues to teach at the Prunedale Senior Center, and two other locations. She does a lot of finger painting and uses a palette knife. She experiments by combining colors directly on the canvas which can create illusions of perfection. Bunny is also a Gallery artist of the Monterey Peninsula Art Foundation Gallery, and she shows her art there with 32 other artists, at 425 Cannery Row, diagonally across from Chart House. MPAF Gallery has a new show opening: ART IS UNIQUE starting November 2nd. Open daily 11am to 5pm, MPAF Gallery is housed in a historic building, once a carriage house for a cannery estate. Our All-Member Annual Exhibition at Pacific Grove Art Center will open with a reception this Friday evening, September 6, 2024, from 7-9pm. Bring friends! All are welcome! It's a great time to meet and greet artists and collectors. Also exhibiting are: Azadeh R. Nikou, Monterey Bay Plein Aire Painters Association, Tiny Treasures and Studio Artists of PGAC.

ARTISTS WANTED!
As our long-time gallery artists retire, showing spaces become available and new gallery artists are invited in by the MPAF Board. New gallery artists are chosen by their ability and availability to run the shop for one day each month, pay the monthly rental fee (currently $65/month), welcome visitors from around the world, and produce appealing, original artworks.
