Bidwell House Museum Authentic 1760s homestead interpreting early Berkshires and Native American history. Set on 194 acres In 2022, tours will be available by appointment ONLY.

The Bidwell House Museum, set in the Berkshire hills of Western Massachusetts, is an elegant Georgian saltbox originally built circa 1760 as a parsonage. Authentically restored, filled with an 18th century object collection, and surrounded by 192 acres of beautiful grounds and hiking trails, the museum tells the story of the early settlement of the Berkshires. Tomorrow evening at 5:30, join the Bidwell House Museum at Herman Melville's Arrowhead for a screening of "On The Knox Trail" a media show originally created for the 1976 Bicentennial that has been updated and remastered for the 250th celebrations this year. Filmmaker Jonathan Barkan will be there to talk about his experience making this wonderful show. Guided tours of the Museum go until the end of October, so make sure to book your visit before the end of the season! Our tours last around an hour and you will learn about Berkshire history, the Bidwell family and 18th and 19th century decorative arts.
