The Society strives to perpetuate local history through the development and preservation of a substantial collection of historical documents, artifacts, manuscripts and memorabilia. It is the aim of the Society to expand individual and collective knowledge about our unique local heritage, resulting in a greater sense of "community" and civic pride. John Hopper spoke about the History of the Meredith Village Mill Yard to an audience of over a hundred last night at the Meredith Community Center. His talk perfectly illustrated the theme of the 2026 Meredith Old Home Day, “Honoring Yesterday Celebrating Today 1776-2026.”
His recently published book is available at the Main Street Museum. Museum hours ate Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10 to 3 and Sunday 12:30 to 3.

A huge thank you to one of our dedicated Greater Meredith Program volunteers, Andy Lane, for taking the time to repair the water fountain in downtown Meredith. Thanks to Andys hard work and willingness to lend a hand, residents and visitors can once again enjoy this community amenity.
