Laverack Nature Trail at Hawkins Brook

09/02/2026

The Meredith Village Pathways Committee is sadden to report that Rodney Wilson, head of our maintenance committee for Laverack Nature Trail at Hawkins Brook passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2026. Rod joined the committee, along with his wife Cheryl, in 2017. He was a tremendous help during our fund raising campaign. Upon completion of the Trail, he immediately agreed to handle all maintenance issues.
Perhaps you have seen him out blowing leaves or clipping or replacing doggies bags or weeding near the Redwing sculpture. He always had a smile and a hello for all. Rod will be terribly missed.

To The Daily Sun,

The Meredith Village Pathways Committee would like to thank Donovan Tree Experts of Meredith for donating their time and equipment and cutting down two parts of a decayed tree on the Laverack Nature Trail at Hawkins Brook in the educational area. This was a generous donation that added to the safety and enjoyment of the trail. The Pathways Committee appreciates the community support from this local business, the Donovan Tree Experts.
