📣 Just a reminder! The Lake Winnipesaukee Historical Society will not be hosting tomorrow evening due to volunteer staffing challenges. 😔 Additionally, with bike week right around the corner, they won't be able to host their games on 6/10 and 6/17 either.

Due to the snowy messy weather predicted for Saturday evening, 3/25, The Lake Winnipesaukee Historical Society's bingo game has been canceled for tonight. Think spring!!!

There will be NO BINGO game on Sat. March 19, 2022 .. several of our volunteers will be helping out at this important fundraiser. 100% of the funds go to help save animals .. click the link below to check it out. Due to today's stormy forecast we're going to cancel tonight's bingo game for Saturday March 12th!
Next week's 3/19/22 game is also cancelled because our volunteers will be helping out with the FUNds 4 Paws fundraiser at Funspot during the day.
Regular games will resume on Saturday, March 26th!

We're watching the snowflakes piling up here at FUNSPOT so we're cancelling tonight's bingo game! Our next Saturday game will be on January 1st when we will be giving away a $500 shopping spree to Tanger Outlets, Tilton. We hope to see you then as we welcome the New Year with some bingo action : )

We're taking a night off from bingo this Sat. Sept 25th as FUNSPOT is hosting the annual Red, White & Brew Fest to help raise $$ for Veterans Count. So no bingo, but stop by Funspot between noon and 4pm, join the fun and sample some beer & wine for a good cause!
**Saturday night bingo resumes the following week on Oct. 2nd. See you soon!

“CRUISING NEW HAMPSHIRE HISTORY”
AT LAKE WINNIPESAUKEE MUSEUM

On Wednesday, August 4th at 7 PM, the Lake Winnipesaukee Museum will host author Michael Bruno with “Cruising New Hampshire History,” his talk on highway historical markers. This event is free for Lake Winnipesaukee Historical Society members; for non-members there is a $5 fee. Since seating is limited this season, advance reservations are requested, by e-mail to [email protected] or by phone 603-366-5950 (Wed-Sat, 10-4).
Bruno will present and discuss his guide Cruising New Hampshire History, which has been recently featured both by NH PBS and on Chronicle. As a young adult out riding his motorcycle, Bruno stopped to read the historical markers that are installed along Granite State highways. Finding the markers intriguing with their unique stories, he embarked on a project to visit and provide expanded information regarding each of the 267 the state’s historical markers.
The idea of “Cruising New Hampshire History: A Guide to New Hampshire’s Roadside Historical Markers” began in the fall of 2015 while discussing the lack of a user-friendly, interactive state website, or a previously published book on markers. The guide is the result of Bruno’s efforts to visit, photograph, collect GPS coordinates, and research historical markers; copies will be available for purchase and signing by the author at the upcoming event.
The Lake Winnipesaukee Historical Society was founded in 1985 with the mission to promote and preserve the history and heritage of the Big Lake and its vicinity. Programs focusing on the Lakes Region and New Hampshire history are held on Wednesdays during the summer season. Located at 503 Endicott Street North, next to Funspot in the Weirs, the museum is open Wednesdays through Saturdays from 10 AM to 4 PM through mid-October.
