🏛️ Love history? Enjoy meeting people and sharing stories?

The Collin County History Museum is seeking volunteer docents to help bring local history to life for our visitors.

Docents assist with welcoming guests, leading tours, answering questions, and sharing the fascinating stories that make Collin County's history unique. Volunteer opportunities are available on Fridays, Saturdays, and potentially additional days as our programming grows.

No prior museum experience is required. We'll provide plenty of training and resources to help you feel confident and prepared.

Whether you're a history enthusiast, retiree, student, educator, or simply someone who enjoys giving back to the community, we'd love to have you on our team.

Help us preserve the past, inspire curiosity, and connect our community through history.

Interested in volunteering? Email [email protected] to learn more.

🔎 Love history? Love research? We’re looking for you!

The Collin County History Museum is seeking a volunteer Museum Research Assistant to help us uncover the stories of Collin County and assist with research requests from our community.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys digging into history, genealogy, historic properties, people, businesses, photographs, and local stories. Our Research Assistant will use resources including our Research Room, archives, PastPerfect collections database, online historical resources, and AI-assisted research tools to help find answers and connect people with the past.

You don’t need to be a professional historian! We’re looking for someone who is curious, detail-oriented, comfortable with computers, and enjoys researching and solving a good historical mystery. PastPerfect experience is a bonus, but we can train you.

Research requests may come in throughout the week, and we’d especially love someone who can spend time with us Fridays and/or Saturdays from 11 AM–5 PM to assist visitors with research in person.
