🚂 All aboard for Kids Club!

We had such a great time welcoming our young historians to the Collin County History Museum for our August Kids Club! This month, we explored how railroads helped shape McKinney—transporting cotton, livestock, mail, and people while connecting our growing community to the rest of Texas.

Then it was time to get creative! 🎨 Our Kids Club members built their own railroad tracks, decided what their trains would transport, and connected their creations to build one giant railroad across the room. 🚂🛤️

A special shoutout to our wonderful Kids Club Lead, Amelia Underhill, for helping create fun, hands-on activities that make local history engaging for our youngest visitors! ❤️

Thank you to all the families who joined us for an afternoon of history, creativity, and fun!

Did you know Kids Club is FREE for children 12 and under? Stop by the museum to sign up, pick up your collectible Kids Club postcard, and collect a new museum sticker each time you visit! ⭐

We can’t wait for our next Kids Club adventure!

🚂 All Aboard for Kids Club! 🚂
Join us Saturday, August 15 for a fun, hands-on adventure as we explore "Railroads That Built McKinney!"

Did you know the arrival of the railroad in the 1870s helped transform McKinney into a thriving community? Kids will discover how trains carried cotton, livestock, mail, and people, helping our town grow and connect with the rest of Texas.

After a short interactive history lesson, young historians will:
🚂 Build their own railroad track using popsicle sticks
📦 Choose what their train is transporting—from cotton to livestock and more!
🤝 Connect their track with everyone else's to create one giant railroad across the room, showing how every piece helped build a connected community.

Kids Club is FREE for children 12 and under! Register once, and every time your child participates you'll receive a Kids Club postcard and a collectible sticker to add to your collection.

✨ All supplies are provided—just bring your creativity!
