In Part II of our 1964 John Deere 2010 series, Don Sams sees his tractor for the first time after our restoration volunteers (Kevin, Brian, Tom and John) performed mechanical work, refreshed the paint, checked the fluids and repaired some body work. One wheel was fine but the other one had need of new part. According to the guys, it's a good solid tractor.

This 1964 John Deere 2010 was donated by Don Sams in July 2025. Don is from Princeton & McKinney and had used this tractor for years. He's been on a tractor since he was 5 yrs old and had moved down here for his kids and grandkids. Don wanted to donate the John Deere where he knew the volunteers would take care of it and share it's history.

This is Part I of our 1964 John Deere 2010 story. Tomorrow Don will see his tractor for the first time since the volunteers did their magic to restore it.

🌩️ EVENT CANCELED 🌩️

Due to the forecast for Saturday morning, including thunderstorms and the possibility of hail beginning around 8:00 AM, we have decided to cancel Tractors in the Park scheduled for June 6, 2026.

While we're disappointed to miss seeing everyone, the safety of our volunteers, equipment, and visitors comes first.

We are exploring options to reschedule the event and will share any updates as they become available. Please check back next Wednesday for information about a possible new date.

Thank you for your understanding, and we hope to see you at the museum soon!

Love gardening, nature, and hands-on learning? Come grow with us every 1st & 3rd Thursday morning from 9:00–10:30 AM at the Collin County Farm Museum!

Each session begins with 30 minutes of garden maintenance followed by a fun, hands-on project or nature-focused activity. Whether you’re an experienced gardener or just getting started, everyone is welcome!

The Collin County Farm Museum is happy to welcome a new addition to our existing tractor collection. 🚜🚜

A restored Farmall B was generously donated by Robinson Farm est. 1879 by Steve and Jackie Robinson. Our restoration volunteers will take great care of it and don't be surprised to see it featured with the other tractors when we start our Tractors in the Park series again on June 6, 2026.

The Collin County Farm Museum is now accepting applications for our Summer Apprenticeship Programs for high school students.

Students can choose between two hands-on tracks:
🎓 Museum Education Apprenticeship – Design tours, tell stories, and lead visitor experiences
🏛️ Collections & Research Apprenticeship – Work with artifacts, archives, and behind-the-scenes museum work

✔ Build real, portfolio-ready skills
✔ Earn a Certificate + Letter of Recommendation
✔ Contribute to real museum projects

📅 June–July | Tues–Thurs | 9 AM – 3 PM
📍 Ages 14+ (Juniors & Seniors preferred)
