Preserving and Promoting the Heritage and Spirit of Allen
The Allen Heritage Guild was founded in 1996 after a group of people decided that the history of Allen was being neglected and bulldozed. The group oversees the collection of information and artifacts from Allen's history. The Heritage Guild hosts a museum at the Allen Heritage Center/Depot and oversees the Allen Heritage Village on St Mary Drive.
The Allen Heritage Center/Depot at 100 East Main street in downtown Allen has been loaned to the Heritage Guild to use as a museum. The Guild rotates exhibits in the Depot ranging from flags and uniforms to model train exhibits, to 1920's style house to vintage clothing. The Heritage Guild also oversees the Allen Heiritage Village on St Mary Drive where several historic building have been moved.

The Houston and Texas Central Railroad founded the town of Allen, Texas, in 1874. The town was named after Ebenezer Allen. Allen was mostly a small farming community until the boom of the 1980's. Now Allen is one of the fastest growning cities in north Texas.
