Every person has a Matthews story. What's yours?

We've been collecting stories for the Matthews Stories Project, to preserve the memories, experiences, family stories, and everyday moments that make up the story of our community, and we'd love to hear from more of you.

Maybe you've lived in Matthews your entire life. Maybe you grew up here and moved away. Maybe you went to school here, owned a business, volunteered in the community, raised a family, worked here, or simply have a favorite memory of Matthews that you've never shared.

Your story doesn't have to be famous or historic. It just has to be yours.

What was Matthews like when you were growing up? What places do you remember? Who made an impact on you? What has changed and what do you hope future generations will remember?

These are the stories that help us understand Matthews, not just as a place, but as a community.

🇺🇸 Remembering 9/11 from Town of Matthews, NC:

On Wednesday, members of the Matthews Police Department, Matthews Fire & EMS, MEDIC, the Matthews Board of Commissioners and Town staff attended Hero Salute Day at Windsor Run, recognizing our local first responders and honoring the heroes of September 11, 2001.

As we mark the 25th anniversary of 9/11, we remember the lives lost, the bravery of the first responders who answered the call and the spirit of service and unity that followed.
