Dr. Evil is back on Channel 3. Sort of. 📺

In 1980 and 1981, WBTV handed my grandfather Philip Morris the keys to its Halloween special, and he turned it into an all-night haunted house with Mike McKay as the victim. The tapes sat in a box for 45 years. We just had them transferred.

Starting Saturday, Oct 17: THE LATE SHOW. 10 PM. Every night through Oct 30. One clip a night from the original broadcasts, ending with how it all ended.

If you grew up in Charlotte with the TV on past bedtime, this one's for you. Follow so you don't miss a night. 🦇

PROGRAMMING NOTE 📺

THE MAN IN THE SUIT, our sit-down with Bob Heironimus, moves to Halloween night: Saturday, Oct 31, 8 PM ET, premiering on our YouTube.

Here's why. On Tuesday, Oct 20, CAPTURING BIGFOOT arrives on Prime Video (rent or buy) and in select theaters. Director Marq Evans spent years on the 1967 Patterson-Gimlin film, and the movie features Bob, the man who says he wore the suit, along with Bob Gimlin, Jeff Meldrum, Bill Munns, Greg Long and the Patterson family, plus a 16mm reel the filmmakers date to 1966.

Bigfoot gets the week. Go watch it first. Then on Halloween night, hear what Bob told us in Yakima about a $400 gorilla suit from Morris Costume in Charlotte, as he remembers it.

The Late Show is not moving: Dr. Evil's 1980 and 1981 WBTV Halloween specials, one clip every night at 10 PM, starting Saturday.
