Path of Least Resistance turns inward, reflecting on Jon Ching’s personal life and the small moments that define his present state of mind. Moving from the broader environmental and cultural concerns that have long shaped his practice, Ching explores parenthood, partnership, creative work, sacrifice, and the mounting demands of everyday life.
Throughout the exhibition, familiar natural symbols take on personal significance: rocks suggest protection and stability, water offers a lesson in moving around obstacles, and fire represents inner strength and perseverance. By relinquishing control and trusting intuition, Ching considers resilience, adaptation, and finding meaning and joy amid change.
