‘The Third Floor’, 2013, a walkthrough with Patrick Jackson’s voice commentary.

We’re continuing to go through the archives of some of Jackson’s past installations and just edited this 2013 walkthrough, shot and narrated by Jackson, of his installation ‘The Third Floor’. The show was set up in our Culver City space, which was originally an oil change business, hence the giant pit in the floor. Jackson filled this pit with scaffolding to level off the entrance level and line it with white carpet, while creating a basement space where viewers had to crawl to check out the ceramic vessels set in its corners, filled with goopy stalagmite interiors.

The gallery is closed this week, and we are on summer break, but Patrick Jackson’s ‘All Signs Fail’ will reopen next Tuesday, September 1st, for the final four days of the show. The last day is Friday, September 4th.

‘House of Double’, 2011, a walkthrough with Patrick Jackson’s voice commentary.

As we head into the final few weeks of Patrick Jackson’s ‘All Signs Fail’ (closing September 4th), we’re going through the archives of some of his past work. We just edited this 2011 walkthrough, shot and narrated by Jackson, of his installation ‘House of Double’. The show was set up in a vacant Los Angeles apartment, just a few doors down from Jackson’s own apartment.

Jackson has pointed out that ‘House of Double’ “is one of three installations where I’ve used some structure of ‘home’ and included a figurative sculpture, and then the rest of the work is sort of a dialogue with minimalism and the readymade. But in the end, I more or less think of the figures as readymades too.”

‘All Signs Fail’ (on view now) and ‘The Third Floor’ (2013) are the other two installations Jackson is referring to. We’ll post a walkthrough of ‘The Third Floor’ later this week.

Sculpted from basalt volcanic stone, the elusive forms of Ragini Bhow’s (Ragini Bhow) new sculptures speak equally to the microbial, psychoactive, cosmic, and the supernatural. “The dark,” in all of its literal, formal, and esoteric senses, is the silent collaborator in Bhow’s work. Here, it inheres in the materiality of the sculptures, from which Bhow draws out her signature biomorphic forms.

Ragini Bhow (b. 1991, Minneapolis, MN) holds a BFA from the University of Minnesota and an MFA from the University of New Mexico. We will present a solo exhibition with the artist in the fall of 2026.

Patrick Jackson’s (Patrick Jackson) large-scale installation of new sculptures and images, ‘All Signs Fail’ is now on view in Los Angeles.

The exhibition is made up of four parts: a giant billboard of eyes; altered bus shelter posters; a statue of a mother holding her child; and a monumental structure. Jackson has described the show as “a lot of images and a memorial.”

‘All Signs Fail’ is on view through August 15, 2026 at 2245 E Washington Blvd in Los Angeles.

Joeun Kim Aatchim’s () exhibition ‘Miss Ceilingfan - Ad Nauseam’ is now on view at in São Paulo, through August 1.

The exhibition, Aatchim’s first in Brazil, brings together a new painting series with sculptures and objects. Aatchim created the paintings in the Miss Ceilingfan series, from which the exhibition takes its title, during an extended stay at her parents’ home in Seoul. Far from her studio in Brooklyn. Working at the family dining table, Aatchim turned to a character who has reappeared in her work for years. In the exhibition, as in her practice at large, Aatchim intertwines her art with a meticulous record of her coming of age, addressing themes of illness and healing, trauma and personal faith, family histories, and reconciliation.

Farah Al Qasimi’s () work is on view now in the United Arab Emirates national pavilion at the Venice Biennale.

Curated by Bana Kattan (), Curator and Associate Head of Exhibitions at the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi Project, with Assistant Curator Tala Nassar (), the exhibition brings together intergenerational and interdisciplinary practices to expand on themes of migration, technology, oral histories, and the relationship between language, body, and identity. These histories reveal the UAE not as a fixed cultural form, but as a space shaped by mobility, correspondence, and layered forms of listening across land and sea. Al Qasimi’s layered installation conveys the uncanny geography of an interconnected world.

Gokula Stoffel’s () exhibition ‘Spell’ opens tomorrow, May 29 at our Los Angeles gallery. Join us for a public opening from 6—8pm.

The exhibition’s title, ‘Spell,’ holds within it the possibility of fascination: to be under a spell is to be in thrall to something outside of oneself. For Stoffel, fascination becomes a working method, as she crafts her cross-disciplinary works intuitively, responding to the immediate, sensuous qualities of her materials.

Artists Christine Sun Kim () and Thomas Mader ()() will unveil a new inflatable sculpture today, May 9, at Clockshop’s () Kite Festival in Los Angeles State Historic Park, from 2:00pm to 6:00pm.

Commissioned by Clockshop, “The Weather” includes five inflatable elements—a tongue, a pointed finger, and three clouds—that visualize the American Sign Language phrase “finger to the wind,” meaning “let’s hope for the best.” The installation reflects the uncertainty of the political climate in the United States and the future of the park, while also offering a sense of hope and playfulness.

Our collaborative exhibition with .artgallery is on view in Beverly Hills through May 21. Included in the exhibition is ‘Bridge with Base #3’ by Iranian-born American sculptor and architect Siah Armajani.

During his decades-long career, Siah Armajani (1939 — 2020) has produced a nuanced and wide-ranging body of work that includes sculpture, public art, painting, drawing, and conceptual projects. He is best known for outdoor gardens, gazebos, plazas, and bridges, works that exist at the intersection of art, community, and site and explore what the “public” in public art really means. Less known are his studio sculptures, which combine social and political content with forms adapted from the vernacular architecture of rural America, Bauhaus design, and Russian Constructivism, among others. All of his works speak directly to an American experience of immigration—something Armajani, as a native of Iran and later a resident of Minnesota, knows well.

Candice Lin’s work ‘American Snack’ (2026) is included in ‘unni (언니)’, presented by Secret Asian Man at Commonwealth & Council. The exhibition is on view through May 16.

‘unni (언니)’ brings together works that emphasize surface, tactility, openness, and intimacy, considering how each object opens up to new potentialities of the term. Candice Lin’s American Snack is a humorous poncho-like garment featuring a double-sided painting of skeletal human bodies, hyena-like beasts, and cats wrestling with each other in a Laocoön-like scenery, on which pockets are sewn to house boxes of treats. Despite its violence, the work proposes a flippant, inviting gesture, as viewers are encouraged to rummage through the pockets and find the apparently “innocent” candy boxes that have lewd, cartoonish images pasted underneath its cover.
